Improvised roadside explosive devices in suburbia

It's verge rubbish season here at Sector 7, so it's also the season for kerb crawlers. But something my neighbours left out might discourage them from hanging around:



Unfortunately I was too late to capture this in its full glory and some parts were removed. With the extra whatsit handle thingie on top it looked significantly more like a gaint hand grenade than it does now. Still...

Don't you just want to paint it black with grey checks?
